05.12.2024. amendments to the Law on Compulsory Third Party Liability Insurance of Land Vehicle Owners were adopted in the final reading. The entry into force of the law, which provided for OCTA insurance for all vehicles that are registered, including those that participate in traffic irregularly, seasonally, until at least the end of 2025, is canceled. Initially, it was planned that an OCTA insurance policy must be purchased for all vehicles, unless their registration is temporarily suspended. Amendments to the law for urgent correction were submitted by the "Stabilitātei" party, "Apvienotais saraksts", representatives of the National Alliance and "Latvija pirma vietā". This time the opposition worked honorably.
